Folks, if any of you have a Sam's Wholesale Club nearby, go check out the tool chest they have that is made of solid oak. They have a top cabinet that is basically a very large machinist's or woodwoorker's tool chest, and a bottom rollaway cabinet. I bought the rollaway cabinet for $199.00 and it is built better than any metal box you will ever find. The whole cabinet weighs at least 200 lbs and is all solid red oak. The the top cabinet I have yet to get but it goes for $99.00. All the drawers slide on ball-bearing rollers and are felt lined. The top of the rollaway cabinet is solid oak and has an insert that is aparently MDF skinned in oak veneer on one side and green felt on the other. This allows you to have a sacrificial top to protect the oak top. I am moving to a place where I will probably not get to have a shop and this cabinet is "furniture grade" so that I can park my tools in the condo/apartment/house and not have a big red metal tool cabinet sticking out like a sore thumb. Also the cabinet has a wood bar that fits vertically over the drawers and locks the whole thing for security. Not a bad thing. I checked their web site and found the top box for you, couldn't find the bottom one, but it's made by the same folks of the same wood. Put it on your wish list.

By the way, looking for good detailed plans and instructions for SOF Greenland style Kayak about 17.5' long. Any clues?
