I am using a bulkhead instead of the normal foot pegs in a Redfish Silver. I used 1/4" plywood fiberglassed both sides and taped on both sides. It feels very stout. I have thrashed it pretty good doing rolls and it feels bomb proof. Since it is my wife's boat, I have a mini-cell spacer on top for length adjustment. The spacer is angled forward for more foot comfort and has a center cut-out to allow one to straighten one leg at a time. She likes it much better than the foot-pegs on her other boat. I think Shawn Baker is using a similar arrangement. You might try contacting him for more comments.
