Launching: ShootingStar

Last sunday a new ShootingStar was launched, christened and given away at a little village, Torsång, at the DalaRiver in Sweden.
She was christened to GERSIMI, the same name as one of the daughters of Freya, the fertility godess in the Nordic mythologi. Gersimi means "jewel"
After that I gave her to my daughter Disa.

Gersimi is built after Rob Macks plans for ShootingStar with some minor modifications. She is built with swedish spruce and a little mahagony, weights in at 17 kilo. This type of kayak is rather unknown in Sweden and she draws attraction and many questions was asked about her origin.
We have tested her in a swimmingpool for stability. She passed with honour. There was too many children and polokayaks crowding around us so we couldn´t make rolltest and so big manouvres.

She is very easy to paddle and tracks well.
Last year Duva was inaugerated and christened on similar occasion. Duva is a Panache, another Rob Macks concept. He makes very beautiful kayaks and they behave superb in the water. I don´t wear hats but I too take it off for Rob!
