I was thinking about producing 4 x 5/8" ceder strips with simple ¼" inlaid veneers of maple - all glued & sanded prior to stapling the 5/8" strips as the sheer lines. The idea being that upon completion I'd have two quite elegant parallel "coach" lines along the length of the boat.

Having never built a boat before I wondered if I was asking for trouble insofar as joinng the deck to the hull might not be as easy in practice as in theory and that any "wavyness" would look worse than having no coach lines.

Can I solicit opinions from the board?

I should be in position to start stripping next week-end and I am getting very JUMPY. Is that normal stage fright?
