Great photos Nick - love those digital cameras (however, mine being a whole three years old is now a dinosaur)!
It is possible for this technique to be used for building a coaming for strippers as well.
I have tried many variations on coamings and have settled on the "One-Piece" technique as being my favorite - it is however, a little more labor intensive than some that I've tried.
