I have built what I hope will be a different direction to decorate a wood kayak. There are three different colours in these flames. Red, Yellow, Orange. I blended the red/orange for the bottom two flames. Red/yellow for the second flames. Orange that then go to yellow tips. All the art work is burned into the wood with a fine burning iron and the dye is flowed up to the line with very little bleed thro. I started with the dark colours and worked up to the yellow. Each colour is left to dry before I went on to the next colour. I did take four tries but the reject colours came off with 180 grit with no problems. If more information is requested I will try to answer all to the best of my ability. The flames curve from the water line over the deck to the other side. There are three four foot flames on the bow portion and there is a flame after the cockpit to within a foot of the stern. all have the coloured flames.
If I figure out how to post more than one picture at a time I will post more.
All the colours are analine dyes used for colouring fly fishing materials. I have over sixty different colours to chose from. Regards, Erich
