Material: Making carbon-fiber paddles

Hullo, I'm seeking information on behalf of a Mr Ed Kinbacher on techniques for constructing kayak paddles utilizing carbon-fibre. The paddles have to stand up to rough treatment in very rocky environments. Any assistance or advice would be most appreciated.
