Strip: Footbrace rail installation

I'm approaching the stage where it's time to install the rails for the footbraces/rudder controls. I really really don't want to drill holes in the side of this particular boat. I've seen reference before to people embedding bolts in a strip of wood epoxied to the side of the boat. Can someone that has actually done this explain it to me step by step, and or send me a link to the pictures on how to do this? I installed the footbraces on the two Chessies AFTER the decks were on, and that was a PITA. The Atlantic is narrower, shallower, and I'm not, so I would prefer to do this prior to the gluing on of the deck. Thank you!!
