Seeking: Help on Hull. *Pic*

This is the Shooting Star I am building and I want the bottom section of the hull to be White Pine and then the rest will be red-Western Red Cedar as Rob Mack's SS are. The back stern section, (about a foot long) has to be stripped first and then fastened to the strong back and then the rest of the hull is to be stripped. So the bottom of the stern will be pine and the rest will be WRC but I have to determine exactly how far down the pine will run so it will match up with the pine on the main hall. What I am attempting to do is measure down 1/34" all along the sections and then projecting a horrozonal line across the the sections to determine where to put the starting pine strip that will define the pine section of the hull. This does not completely work as you can see in station 2 as the strip dips some. But could I go this way and the fair up this strip to look good or is their a proper way of doing this that I don't know about. I hope this isn't to muddy to understand.

Thank you,
John
