In Response To: Epoxy: time between saturation and fill (canary)

: Just getting ready to glass the hull on a Pygmy and wanted to know if, after
: saturation, the fill coats need to be applied every 24 hours. Will waiting
: longer mess thing up later? Using Sys III epoxy and they say 72 hours
: without sanding. Does this apply to the fill coats as well?

Larry-When I built my Osprey HP, I went by System 3's recommendations regarding time and have, after seven years, had no problems. I tried to arrange my schedule around the 72 hr. time window, but in a couple of cases I had to put on another coat to buy myself 72 more hours when my schedule changed. I did, however, lightly sand the cured coat before I put down the new one. So far, so good.-Greg
