Strip: Really need to know if cockpit Sz.is OK!

Hi,

Can someone relieve me of some worries here ? I am just doing my coaming and I need advice: Is the cockpit described below big enough for 5' 10' 145lbs, paddler with small feet (size eight) who is pretty flexible ???

28" X 16" (interior, clear) recessed to leave 12" clearance from hull to deck @ front of coaming.

I don't have any practical reference. Also I am going on the "assumption" that the smaller the cockpit can be while still manage a reasonable balance ease of use, utility and comfort the more "sea-worthy" margin the craft would have.

If I'm gonna blow it by making it too small, I sure hope somebody who's been there can let me know, cause I'm just about to set this ol' "assumption"of mine in epoxy. And I'm not sure. Thanks, Joe
