Strip: Sometimes you eat the Bear *Pic*

I've been "eaten by the bear" more times than I care to admit during the building of my GB, but I'm happy to say that today I did a little "bear munching" of my own. :)
After reading accounts of the terrible time some folks have mating their decks and hulls, I read and reread posts, plans, books, web sites and runes, trying to gather as many strategies as I could to make sure that my deck and hull would be happily mated, regardless of their wishes.
Today was the day. I gathered my wedges, hot glue, cinch straps, clamps, pegs, BF hammer, various kinds of tape and made ready for the assault.

With trembling hands I placed the deck on top of the hull, matched up the places that the design crossed the line, and gave it a few pokes and nudges. Holy Mackerel! It fits! I couldn't believe my eyes, there was very little gap anywhere.

Before Murphy could come down and smite me I kicked the pile of heavy weapons aside and grabbed the "Nifty Wrapper Almost Tape tm" and secured the stern. It was so easy, I thought "Hmmmm...why not?" and started wrapping the whole boat in the stuff. It became obvious that since the tape only stuck to itself and not the boat, I couldn't wrap over the holes and then cut it, I'd have to leave those areas and use masking tape to keep the epoxy from leaking out. I did have to resort to fibre tape in a couple of areas, but not a big deal at all. Less than an hour later, it's trussed up like a turkey and as I type this the garage is heating up to epoxying temps.
I used the hot glue to attach the tape method on the inside, so I'm hoping that by tonight the inside seam will be done on one side at least..maybe both... but perhaps I'm tempting the bear again....we'll see! :D
