I believe this is what you are looking to do. Please disregard the stem form as it is not secured in this picture. I used a six foot level in several areas along the strongback to make sure it was level and plumbed. With a t-square I transferred the center mark to my cleat, then attached it to the form. Mind you, the more time you spend getting things level straight and square now will make your life easier later. That said, I used the T-square and level to get the forms as near to perfect that I could. With all the reference lines its not as hard as you think. Take your time and get it right. If it doesnt look good enough do it again. Remeber no points for crossing the imaginary finish line fastest. Take a look at the rest of the pics in my gallery as my yak is an expedition single it may help you and you might think what was I doing either way keep asking. I did And you can see the results. Just look at the canoe I made from D. Hazens book, then the yak. You tell me, does it pay to ask questions or what? Everyone here seems to be very helpful and supportive.
