I have recently been introduced to kayaking by a friend who also recommended this site. My 10 year old daughter and myself went on a kayak trip in Maui. Now we want a kayak for ourselves. The kayak we went on was an open plastic two seater and did not resemble the kayak I pictured in my mind. Although it was a great trip I invisioned fitting into the kayak. So now I want a kayak for the cottage. We go to an area of the Canadian Sheild where there are alot of lakes to explore. I picture a two seater I fit inside and has to big enough for a 200 lb man. Also if my daughter doesn't come along I have a 100 lb Lab that may join me. I would like to know where to begin with respect to model that fits, then hopefully convince my buddy to make it. I have seen his 90% completed kayak and i want to make sure he starts on mine next.
