S&G: Roller Choices; - ready to apply saturation coat

I'm getting ready to use the roller to apply the saturation coat. The manual recommended a foam roller with 1/8" surface. All I could find was 3/8" rollers. I did however find a roller that has a 1/8" surface but it isn't foam. It seems to have bristles like a brush. The package listed Epoxy as one of the uses for this roller. Do you guys think that it will be ok?

What is the big deal with thin foam rollers anyway?
