I bought a nylon dry suit that a local dive shop was selling through costco for about $250. About the only thing I'm not really excited about is that the zipper runs across my back from shoulder to shoulder making it hard to zip up. I wear a pair of sweats underneath to keep it off my skin. If I get in the water without the sweats it's very cold where the drysuit touches the skin. Otherwise I don't even notice the temperature of the water.

I used it at R2K1 and it was a little warm in the summer, but not as warm as a wet suit would have been. All I had to do to let the heat out is pull it away from my neck for a little bit.

A Goretex drysuit would even be nicer in the summer than a nylon one.

As far as getting into a kayak, It hasn't been a problem at all for me.

My opinion is that if you have the money buy a goretex drysuit, if you don't want to spend that much, the next best is to buy a nylon dry suit. I put the wet suit in last place.
