I am nearing the point of working on the cockpit of my Night Herron. I am building the high/regular deck version. As I read in Nick's book he talks about the recessed deck.

What is the advantage/disadvantage? I am 180#'s and 6'0". Both of my other plastic boats do not have recessed cockpits and I have no trouble attaching a spray skirt.

Would like to hear opinions of others/Nick.
