Contrary to what my wife might say I'm not stubborn. With that many votes for the recessed cockpit, and the peaked deck issue that I had not thought of, I will accept the overwhelming vote for the recessed deck.

Thanks to everyone and to Nick for his Night Herron design. I will post pictures when the deck is done.
