Shop: Bulkhead question

I have a S&G yak with no hatch covers on top.I have sucessfully put in a water tight door in the rear bulkhead, fairly easy to access.
After deciding to put ajustable foot bracing in I have realized the front bulkhead will be out of my reach for water tight storage.
Any Ideas out there besides cutting the top of my kayak?
