My work on the wherry slowed down lately. Layoffs at my current job forced me to look for employment.

I returned to the wherry yesterday night. It was time to glue the rubrails on the wherry. Early in the week I purchased stainless steel screws for attaching the rub rail at the bow and stern. The rub rail is to be epoxy glued but the bend resistance at the bow almost dictates using screws. The manual mentions that this is being done by some and some elect not to use the screws. I feel that I need to use them to ensure tight bond at the bow. I removed the right rub rail and mixed 1.5 ounce of epoxy with cabosil. I pasted the glue on and attached the rub rail. I used about 20 clamps on this side. Then I went to the bow and used two stainless steel screws with washers to attach the bow. It looks ok. In case it looked bad during finishing I can remove them.

I only glued one side because I did not have enough clamps for the other. Today I will check the job and prepare for gluing the other side.
