I started building my first kayak in October 2001 which happens to be the "Guillemot" and I am currently in the final stages of stripping in the hull. I have not yet started on the recessed cockpit or the combing yet but I did do a little bit of fairing on one side of the boat. When I ran the block plane over the boat I found that there were a few spots where the glue must not have contacted the two strips and it left a small gap in between the strips. What is the best way for me to fill these gaps? Will I be able to see the areas where I filled in? Somebody please tell me no. I want this to be my own little work of art not something that has noticeable gaps in it. If things turn out I will post pictures later. I think I made things hard for myself by designing a very unique stripping pattern. Thanks.
