Hi Greg,

This is just my 2 cents. I would do a seal coat. It is better if possible to apply the glass as soon as the seal coat has reached a "green" cure. But if there are reasons for doing the seal coat now and glassing in a few days then it does not present a real problem. Do the seal coat now and when it is time to glass go ahead and lightly sand with 80 grit (wash off any amine blush with green 3M pad and water first). I have worried too about "sanding" the seal coat, but in my experience it is no problem at all. Just go over the whole seal coat and "knock" it down a little, no reason to over sand or worry that light sand will "hurt" the finish. I am sure others will have advice for and against seal coats, but for me I vote for a seal coat and I have no problem with the "mechanical" bond created by sanding the seal coat and applying the next coat. I could be wrong, but that's how I see it. Good luck.

Joe
