S&G: Saturation coat

I'm going to do a saturation coat on my Okoume before I get too far into the project, but now I'm wondering exactly when to do it. I was going to do it after cutting the scarfs and before gluing, but now I'm wondering if I should wait until I do the offsets and cut out the panels. Will the epoxy make it harder to make pencil marks on the wood and worse, make it harder to cut it? I would think it would dull my jigsaw blade faster.

Any thoughts and/or opinions?
