Has anyone else on this board had problems with Brewery Creek Boat Shop in Vancouver? This is a serious question related to a bad experience of mine with this company. In September 2001, after some email conversations with the owner (Robert Morris), I mailed money for a materials kit and shipping to a total of $931. The cheque was received and cashed. When the kit had not arrived by Christmas and I had heard nothing more, I sent a registered letter requesting a refund. This was also received and signed for, but there has been no reply to date. Phone messages and emails over several months also remain unanswered. I am very frustrated over all this, but have learned that unless this has happened to a few other people, I have little legal redress. If this is not an isolated incident, there is the potential for a fraud investigation, otherwise I am limited to a civil action that would cost me (at almost a continent’s distance) too much money to initiate. If this has happened to others, I would like very much to hear from you. Please email me directly. I am angry not just because of the money, which, as a retiree, I can ill afford, but for the rotten feeling of being cheated by a boatbuilder. I have had such great experiences with many other people connected to this interest and this board, all honest, generous with time and advice, that it sits very badly with me about this one company.
