I'm sure this topic has been debated endlessly, but how 'bout another round??

I searched the archives and found a few short threads. There's the bungee method, which seems to make sense, except I don't happen to have a lot lying around. There's strapping tape, and strips of inner tube (both of which I happen to have lying around). These sound fast and easy, which is good, but wouldn't you only get pressure in one direction (against the adjacent strip). In these methods, how do you apply pressure against the forms? Or maybe none is needed? There's the wooden U-clamps referred to by various authors. I'm sure these would do the job, but they seems like a lot of work both before and during stripping.

Chip referred to "sash cord", and !RUSS referred to "those L-shaped hoosy whats". I'm not sure what either of those are.

Have I missed any? Anyone care to defend the merits of their favorite method?
