S&G: WGW Construction Day 31: Brightsides Fire Red

Work on the wherry slowed down. I need to sand the hull smooth and figured the only way to do this under adequate lighting is to do it outside. Winter has returned to Maine and the weather was just nasty all of the days that I had the time to work on the boat. So yesterday I had sanded the seats that I primed a week ago and proceeded to coat the underside of the seats with Brightside Fire Red paint. When I opened the can and started mixing the paint I noticed black streaks in the paint. I mixed the whole thing well and started applying the paint with a foam brush.

The issue I saw is that after a minute or so the black streaks sort of reemerged in the paint and the actuall paint job is somewhat spotty between red and 'contained' color. I think that if I had used a roller then I would probably have a better finish but this makes me think that I need to be very careful with this paint if I want a nice finish.
