Good question. It MIGHT look good as a fill for intricate lines. The application I tried wasn't a line drawing but small diamonds, circles and a couple of small kokopelli figures. Glad I tried it on some scrap wood before going to town on an ebony fingerboard. On intricate lines, it might be just as easy to route a 1/16" groove with a dremel or laminate cutter and inlay constrasting 1/16" wood strips. If you used epoxy, you'd probably want to scrape it flush with the wood since sanding would take down the wood faster than the epoxy.
