: I really like the Creature Comfort seat, as have some others on this forum. I
: got mine from Chesapeake Light Craft. I have three of them (two in a
: double, one in a single). Several different people have been in those
: kayaks. Everyone has liked the seats. At least two friends have gotten
: them for their own kayaks.

I agree, the Creature Comfort is one of the most comfortable seats I have ever used. Although the backrest is higher than I would like, and can make rolling more difficult.

Another option is Chesapeake's Happy Bottom seat and a backband. Not as comfortable (much firmer) as the Creature Comfort for longer trips, but I find it gives a better fit for performance paddling and rolling. The Happy Bottom is made from foam, and can be shaped to fit you. I did some serious work to the hip pads, and some minor adjustments to the seat. Also, it does not give enough support to the legs, causing the feet to go numb. Easily fixed my putting some wedges under the seat to "recline" it back. And it will end up custom fit to you, so if somebody else uses the boat, they probably won't like it.

If you want comfort and do a lot of long paddles, I would recommend the Creature Comfort. If you do a lot of short trips (less than an hour) and like to do a lot of rolling and bracing, go with the Happy Bottom and backband, but you will have to spend some time getting it to fit right. I have the Happy Bottom in all of my kayaks, and a Creature Comfort in my parent's kayak. And I am considering changing to a Creature Comfort in my "touring" boat.
