Since you seem to have a tablesaw, I would use it. I'm sure you could set up some long pieces of pine as infeed/outfeed tables for your bandsaw, an use a wide "resaw" blade, I think you will be happier with the table saw for long cuts.

Home Depot and similar stores sell circular 7 1/2" saw blades for hand-held "skil" saws that are cheap and have a very thin kerf and carbide blades and fit table saws. They will make smoother cuts than the bandsaw with a lot less aggravation and better efficiency. The thin kerf will mean that even an el-cheapo tablesaw can swing them through cedar without binding. I use a Freud "Diablo" 24 tooth ripping blade that cost about $10. They so cheap I got several and stack them with spacers to cut several strips at a time.

: My bandsaw sits high enough that the usual outfeed solutions for the table
: saw just won't reach. Of course there are ways to stack things up to make
: useable surfaces, but surely someone has developed an elegant and simple
: solution for moderate loads such as cutting strips. My best idea so far is
: just a simple sheet of plywood fastened to the bandsaw table at one end
: with a couple of legs at the other. This would work for shorter strips,
: but how do you folk handle the long ones?

: Speaking of outfeed solutions, Nick's recently mentioned idea of making his
: workbenches the right height is going to make both my tablesaw and my new
: crude but effective workbench a lot more useful. Thanks for that stroke of
: genius, as well as for this whole board, Nick.
