Day 40

I managed to find some time in my busy day to glue the oar blocks to the gunwales. The oar blocks should be 11 inches from the seat. I think that I got them between 10 and 11 inches. I also used the spare thickened epoxy to fill some gaps in the stern seat and a little in the bow seat. Later I will need to sand the oar blocks flush with the gunwale sides. I can’t stop looking at this boat. I will take more pictures tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be time to flip the boat upside down and create fillets on the edges of the seats so that the seats are able to support a heavy person like me. The next will be a lot of work in sanding the inside of the boat and trying to sand away all the runs and imperfections before the varnish goes on. I know I have some “imperfections” at the stern seams. Those will be hard to correct.
