JJ,

I highly recommend one of these badboys. I find them useful around the house, working in the shop or on the car. I scanned this out of the grizzly woodworking catalog but I got some at Home Depot. couple of buckls well worth spending, and the won't mar your nice surface!

The grizzly catalog referred to them as end nippers. I think they're in the electrical section if not the big tool area in home depot. They also come in varying sizes.
