Hi Folks.

I needed to move my in-progress kayak about 50 miles from my folks' house to my new house. The problem was that my vehicle (Subaru Forester) at present has no kayak rack. I do have a standard luggage rack, so I hacked together a one-time-special kayak rack out of pipe insulation, duct tape, and ratchet tie-downs -- for less than 15 bucks. If you've already got the tie-downs, then it only involves the cost of the insulation -- mine was under 3 bucks for a six-foot section. I thought I'd share since others may find themselves in similar situations. The move was a stellar success with the 'yak budging 'nary an inch along the way.
