I put some of the Raka 5 oz. plain weave satin finish glass on a test panel today (1 x 2 ft., Raka 127 with a 50/50 blend of 610/606) and saw some of what Tom Armstrong described yesterday. The center of most fiber bundles were slow to wet-out. After about 10 min inside at around 70F, I put the panel in the sun and 20 min later it looked fine, complete wet-out. I have not crossed this stuff off my list, but would not use it except in fairly warm weather (I believe Tom was also working at around 70F, but had a whole boat to look after). It does leave a pretty smooth finish.

For comparison, I also laid up some 3 oz. 4-harness satin, 6 oz plain weave, and 7 oz unidirectional using the same batch of resin. They all wet-out right away.
