In an enlightened moment,I have come up with an alternative to adjusting Yakima footbraces with your toes. I have designed a simple cable release system that will allow you to move the footbraces forward or backward with a simple tug of a cable from the cockpit. Each brace positioner can also be made to latch open- for operating a rudder. Braces can be retrofitted on existing installations, if the footbrace assemblies can be removed temporarily from their tracks.
