jay's method seems like it might be a good one here. he hot glue tabs every 4in of so the tape right up to the end (if accessible) before fitting the halves together. that way the tape has more difficulty being disturbed when fooling around w/ the brush, foam pad or pour method than if not held in place. i would think it's especially helpful for those really hard to reach ends where almost only a pour would reach.
sounds like it's made for the hot g-lue guru!
