Sunday night, I was hand sanding the bow of my developing kayak, hit a rough spot of epoxy and got a piece of it in my eye. Actually, a sliver of it got embedded in my cornea and had to go to an eye specialist to have it removed. Result: scratched eyeball and cut the inside of my eyelid just through the action of blinking. (haven't been in that much pain in a long, long time!) Never thought to wear eye protection when NOT using the power tools, but I think I may start. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
