I can't speak from experience on this as I've never used it, but, My feeling would be that the discs would float on the surface ( of bare wood ) and tend to dig into the softer woods or soft grain areas. Might leave a bit of a wave in the finish. Would be best suited to hard, rounded surfaces. Maybe over glass at the bow and stem areas where the most curve appears. Just a wild guess and maybe not in the ball park. ??
