Last year I built a couple of kayak racks for my kayaks out of scrap plywood and I covered them with some black pipe foam to protect the kayaks. The problem is that when it gets hot and sunny (You know, those 2 days each summer in Seattle) the foam sticks to the kayak. I have to take a scotch brite pad to the bottom of the hull to get it off.
I'm wanting to build a new set of roof racks and I was wondering if closed cell seat foam would also stick to the kayak. In the worst case I could always use the spray rubber like is used in the back of a truck.
Thanks in advance
Dale
