To John Monroe

My Tyne was a single kayak but I converted it to take two. It can get lonely in a single. The previous owner brought it out to Australia with him and used to paddle it around our bays etc until someone told him of the sharks that frequented these waters, including the great white, sometimes longer that the kayak. He said the tynes or a similar craft were used by the commandos in England during the war. There are some very good sites on the web talking about tynes and a good picture of one converted to take two. I shall be negotiating with some canvas workers to see if I can get a new skin manufactured at a reasonable cost. I can then take to the water and relive those fun memories of 30 to 40 years ago but maybe not with the same amount of energy.

Cheers
