: After painting a canvas kayak, I want to varnish it. What will I have to do
: to prepare it for repainting? Can I paint over the varnish?
It seems the best recipe is silicone jelly diluted with 80% turpentine and house paint if a color is needed. That much turpentine is needed to fully soak the canvas.
Maps and garments can be waterproofed the same way.
