OK, second question of the day. When we thought we had the canoe almost completely stitched and would be filleting very soon, we laid down a line of clear packing tape along one inside seam. We ran out of tape or would have probably done all the seams. I'm so glad we ran out.

We've had some problems and are still a ways from filleting, so I looked at the tape yesterday and noticed one piece was overlapping another seam at the bow. When I tried to remove it, I found out how difficult that was going to be plus saw that it was leaving a lot of glue residue. So I took all the tape off and now have a very noticeable strip of pretty sticky glue. I wasn't too worried because I figured it would come right off.

I tried alcohol. I tried Oops. I tried vinegar. I tried sanding. The sanding did some good, but not a lot. It's still an ugly, sticky mess. Any ideas? I believe I'll be switching to another kind of tape, but I'd sure like to get this mess off. I think if I epoxy over it, it will be a blotchy mess under there.
