That's what I did. It works pretty good. When I paddle it goes straight. Tip the kayak and it turns.

My fin could be a little bit smaller though to make it easier to turn in when going slow and I did have it try to push me around a little bit when I had some following waves on lake washington the other day.

Overall I would say it has improved my kayak quite a bit, but I should have made it a little bit smaller. Perhaps I'll fine tune it some day when I'm bored.
