Seeking: experiences regarding temperature fluctuations

I've built my stands and almost finished the forms and strongback. But it just occured to me that, as I will be working in my woodheated garage in the dead of winter, the wood is going to expand when I'm working and then contract when I stop. IE the garage has wood heat and I am not able to keep the fire going 24/7.

Is this temperature fluctuation going to have serious consequences? I live in Winnipeg where temperatures can (and often do) drop to below -30 F.

Has anybody had problems under these conditions? Or should I forge ahead?
