Strip: Outer Island Cockpit

Hi all. I've been in the process of selecting my first strip built kayak to build. I like a lot of things about the Outer Island, but I prefer a keyhole cockpit. Can this boat be built with a keyhole cockpit without detrimental affects to something else?
