I'm close to glassing my first strip kayak (a guillemot single). I think I'll glass the inside with 6 oz fabric and the outside with 4 oz (top and bottom). I'll put a layer of 6 oz on top of the 4 oz along the keel line for some more abrasion resistance (as well as other places on the kayak). Is the 6 oz too much fabric? Could I get by just doing the whole thing in 4 oz? That would be simpler. I need some seasoned advice here.
