Skin-on-Frame: More Keel Stringer Questions *Pic*

I finished putting the stems on, and started working on placing the keel stringer. I decided on the straight one fistmele measurement from Morris' book, which is 6-1/2" for me. Where I ran into problems was deciding the depth to sheer at the bow and stern. Morris calls for both the bow and stern depths to be larger than the midship area (130% at the bow and 120% at the stern). That's 2" more in front, and 1-1/4" more at the rear.

Others on this board suggested only around 1+" more in front and 1" LESS in the rear. I'm a little nervous about making this decision without more info. Also, the stem at the bow is looking too short to me. I may have to put a spacer between the keel stringer and the stem. Hmmm....

The picture below shows my initial setup with 1" more at the bow, and 1/2" more at the stern. The stern also has the dip in it shown in Morris' boat to allow the stern to act like a skeg and improve tracking. Please let me know whawt you think.

Thanks again for everyone's input!

Mark
