Once again there is another batch of new photos on the Arica's Silver site. Arica drove down for the Holiday weekend and we spent the better part of yesterday and an hour this morning joining the hull and deck. I spent a little time on Fri. making some wedge clamps to make the alignment of the hull and deck easier. These clamps are the type that Kent LeBoutilier describes on his web page. They are very simple to make. I think it took maybe an hour and a half to make forty or so of them. You hot glue the U-shaped piece to the hull near the shear line and then slide the wedge through the slot and presto the joint is aligned. We glued them to the hull at one foot intervals and at the bow and stern we added one or two extras. You still need to use tape or straps for down force but the critical alignment is handled by the wedge. The new photos also cover the building and installation of brackets for foot braces as well as the building and installation of padeyes to the inside of the hull in the cargo area for Bungees.
