I added beads to the perimeter lines on my new Avocet.
These make it a lot easier to slip a paddle blade under while performing a rescue, or for a rescuee to grasp the line--they keep the line from clinging to the wet deck.
I also detached the spare paddle bungie from the center cleat--the Brits like to stow their spare paddles with the take apart ends under the end bungies, with the blades under the foredeck bungies.
I like to be able to stow a paddle full-length on the foredeck for doing rescues, and I also like my spare on the aft deck with the shaft closer to me, as it makes doing spare paddle rolls easier (I do a "broken paddle roll" with one half of the paddle).
Anyone know of a cheaper compass that will fit these wells than the Silva/Nexus 70P?
