S&G: Wire tips

You know the worst thing about that *#% scorch is that I couldn't even get the little piece of broken off wire out!!!! It and several others are still poking out a teeny bit.
How do I deal with that sharp point? It'll snag the glass for sure. Will sanding with my ROS take care of it or do I need to try to grind down into the hole? I can just see my next mess coming if I do that.
