Now nearing completion of my Tern 14, I planed to install bulkheads and not the Pygmy hatches. After drilling the holes for the foot braces I found the forward bulkhead had to be placed farther forward than I thought. Very hard to reach from the cockpit and I wanted a strong seal. In the interest of strength I had to install a 4" deck plate forward of the bulkhead and filet and tape from there. It is too late for this boat but I was wondering if anyone had a method for the bulkhead the didn't require cutting a hole in the deck. It is really not a bad thing as it does give me access to storage, just bruised my ego a bit.. Thanks
